During the 2024–2025 academic year, the LEARNER project has carried out an intensive phase of fieldwork, essential for gathering in-depth information on the experiences, meanings, and learning trajectories of students in the second year of compulsory secondary education in the autonomous communities of Catalonia, Madrid, and Extremadura.

This process has generated key insights into various curriculum models and policies, as well as the different school logics and pedagogical practices implemented in educational institutions. It has also contributed valuable knowledge about teacher beliefs and identities, student learning experiences, and the characteristics and lived realities of their families.

In total, the following data collection activities were conducted:
• 8 interviews with policymakers
• 41 interviews with school leadership teams
• 62 interviews with tutors and teachers
• 11 focus groups with teaching staff
• 79 interviews with students
• 42 interviews with families
• 130 classroom observations
• 865 questionnaires administered

The 2025–2026 academic year will focus primarily on the detailed analysis of the data collected, its dissemination through various channels, and the return of results to the participating schools and the broader educational community.
