Veda Krüger is a PhD Sociology researcher at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and a visiting PhD researcher at the Department of Educational Psychology within the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her thesis explores the relationship between subjective wellbeing and learner/teacher identity in different socioeconomic school contexts. The study focuses on public schools across the regions of Madrid and Catalonia, and aims to understand factors influencing student and teacher wellbeing, which is currently at particular stakes.
She holds a degree in Psychology and Social Anthropology (2016) at the University of St Andrews, in Scotland, and a master in Education Policies for Global Development (2023) at the UAB. Her areas of interest in education research include student/teacher wellbeing, school care practices, socioeconomic inequalities, redistributive and social justice, youth participation, and feminisms.
She has worked for over seven years as an education project coordinator in international NGOs and youth participation networks across Spain, United Kingdom, France, United States, and Colombia, and continues to bridge education practice, activism and participatory research.
