Sara Gil

Sara Gil is a PhD candidate at the Sociology Department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with a research project on the imagined futures of the youth in academic upper secondary tracks. She holds a degree in Sociology (2018) and a MA in Social Policy, Labour and Welfare (2019), both from the same university. Her areas of interest are learner identities, gender roles formation in education, class reproduction through educational systems, social justice theories and qualitative methods, among others. She has done research stays in the Centre de Recherche sur les Inégalités Sociales at SciencesPo (París) and in the School of Education at University College Cork. Sara has previously participated in other national and international research projects on young people’s educational transitions and trajectories.
