Marta Curran is an assistant professor of sociology of education at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and holds a PhD in Sociology (UAB, 2017). Her research has been developed mainly within the research group GEPS (Globalization, Education and Social Policies) and her research areas of interest include education inequalities with a special focus on gender and social class, policy analysis, educational transitions, and the internationalization of education. Based on her research, she has been published in numerous prestigious publications and has carried out several research stays at the University of Sussex and the University of Amsterdam. Finally, Dr. Curran has extensive experience in coordinating and participating in research and academic outreach contracts focused mainly on the issues of early school leaving and youth policies by different public administrations and private foundations.
